The Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence visits the stand of the National Gendarmerie at PROMOTE.
The stand of the National Gendarmerie, coordinated by Major EBA Philomène Carine, Head of the Communication Service at the National Gendarmerie, was honoured by the visit of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency, in charge of Defence, BETI ASSOMO Joseph, who was accompanied by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie (SED/CGN) and a host of close collaborators, on Wednesday 21 February 2024 at 3:40pm. Launched on 17 February 2024, the 9th edition of the Yaounde International Business, SMEs and Partnership Fair (PROMOTE) gives companies a chance to promote themselves, to exchange ideas and to engage with the public.

As in previous editions, the National Gendarmerie is well represented at the Grand Bivouac (Stand) of the Defence and Security Forces.

For nine days, the Force will showcase its missions through 06 workshops. These include the Communication workshop, where the public can get all the information about the Force; the Forensics workshop, facilitated by the Central Criminal Investigation Service (SCRJ); the Law Enforcement workshop, facilitated by the Law Enforcement Bureau of the Technical and Logistics Department; the Road Safety workshop, facilitated by the Traffic Bureau of the Employment and Structures Service, with features like the Speed detection radar device and the ZBV Car Scanner. Other features include the Command Car which is displayed by the Signals Service of the National Gendarmerie.

The major innovation of this 2024 edition is the workshop facilitated by the Multipurpose Intervention Regiment of the National Gendarmerie (GPIGN) on the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

The participation of the National Gendarmerie at this year’s PROMOTE is part of a drive to strengthen the concept of proximity Gendarmerie, while enabling visitors to learn more about this elite corps of Cameroon Armed Forces.
