The event took place at the Club of the High Command for Gendarmerie Schools and Training Centres (CECIG).
The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General BITOTE André Patrice, Director General of the International School for Security Forces (DG/EIFORCES) and a host of officers, non-commissioned officers, civilian personnel, family members and friends, who had come to express their friendship and gratitude to their colleague and batchmate.
Born on 11 July 1966, this Zoétélé native joined EMIA in 1990. A man with a wealth of experience, this senior officer has distinguished himself throughout his career by his sense of duty, his dedication and his love for work well done. In fact, he demonstrated his competence in the numerous positions of responsibility he held within the Defence Forces.
Colonel ONDJA’A Jacques Vincent de Paul is a product of the “30th Anniversary of Independence” batch of the Combined Services Military Academy (EMIA). He equally took part in the Operational Defence of the Territory (DOT) in Bakassi in 1996. He also put his competence at the service of foreign institutions such as the AU and the UN as a Military Observer during the Darfur conflict between 2006 and 2007.
Speaking after the opening prayer of the ceremony, Colonel ONDJA’A Jacques Vincent de Paul expressed his deep gratitude to High Command for the trust placed in him during his 34 years of service to the nation. The senior officer also expressed his delight to go on retirement after so many years of service rendered to the nation.
Speaking in his turn, Colonel ENGOZO’O Sylvain gushed praises on his former colleague and also used this opportunity to stress that retirement was not inevitable, but rather, a new opportunity that life was offering him.
Finally, in recognition of having served the Nation for several years with ‘Honour and Loyalty’, the High Command awarded Colonel ONDJA’A Jacques Vincent de Paul a certificate of ‘Testimonial of Appreciation’
