Fight against organised crime : the Baham Gendarmerie company nabs a gang of robbers.
Acting upon instructions from the West Gendarmerie Legion Commander, the Baham Gendarmerie Company carried out an operation in the towns of Baham, Mbouda, Foumbot, Kekem and Douala, on 17 July 2024.

Consequently, 07 robbers aged between 21 and 44 were arrested and 06 weapons were recovered. These weapons included one Galil Ace 5.56×45 N401664 assault rifle, one Ekol Es 54 N 005943 automatic pistol, with its grey colour ammo box, one Bash Gal black plastic gun, one homemade gun, one .12 calibre short shotgun, one .12 calibre long shotgun, live ammunitions and ammo boxes.

This gang was responsible of several armed robberies. The last two cases were the robbery of a small supermarket in the Bonamoussadi neighborhood in Douala, where they made away with 2.700.000 CFA F and cell phones. And the robbery of a microfinance establishment in Melong, in the Moungo Division, Littoral Region, during which they opened fire on the population, using the Galil Ace assault rifle.

After interrogation at the Baham Gendarmerie Company, they were referred on Monday 22 July 2024 to the Bafoussam Military Court to be held accountable.
