Commemoration of the 43rd day of peace :the National Gendarmerie raises awareness in schools
Together with the international community, Cameroon will commemorate the 43rd International Day of Peace on 21 September 2024, under the theme "Cultivating a Culture of Peace".

Prior to this day, the National Gendarmerie, along with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, is carrying out an awareness-raising campaign from 16 to 19 September 2024 on the theme “Stopping Youth Violence and Promoting Living Together”.

On Tuesday, 16 September 2024, teams of the National Gendarmerie made their first stop at Government High School Nkol Eton, in Yaounde. Discussions centered around the following topics: dangers associated with violence in schools, irredentism and cultural isolationism in cyberspace, irresponsible use of smartphones and other social medias, and dangers associated with drug and psychotropic use by students.

The various speakers namely Captain AMOUGOU Annick, head of the Defence and Civic Action Service, Captain NOTE Désirée and Warrant Officer NDJOCK SIELEYE of the Communication Service, spent a few minutes sensitizing the youth on school violence.

The National Gendarmerie teams will visit Government High School Tsinga and Government High School Minkan on September 18 and 19, respectively.

By doing so, the National Gendarmerie intends to help in preserving peace, starting with our youth.
