Combatting fake currency : the Tsinga Gendarmerie Brigade nabs three individuals with a large number of counterfeit notes in their possession

On Monday, 21 October 2024, elements of the Tsinga Gendarmerie Brigade raided a place called "Sous-préfecture Tsinga" around 9 :44 pm. This operation led to the arrest of three individuals aged 24 to 44, including a lady, who make a living producing fake local and foreign currencies.

Acting on reliable information, the alleged counterfeiters were caught in possession of numerous CFA, Euro and Dollar banknotes. Charms were equally seized by Gendarmes.

One of their accomplices who owns the equipment used in producing counterfeit notes is actively being sought.

The persons arrested are undergoing interrogation at the Tsinga Gendarmerie Unit.

The National Gendarmerie urges the population to be vigilant, and to report any suspicious person by dialing toll-free number 113. They can equally dial 1501 to report any abuse by Gendarmes.
