In a spirit of fair play and a shining example of sportsmanship, the match ended in a stunning 3-1 victory for CECIG.

Chaired by Brigadier General TOUNGUE Elias, Commander of the First Gendarmerie Region, who was representing the SED/CGN, the closing ceremony of the 2024 sports season of the National Gendarmerie that featured this football encounter, was yet another occasion to increase cohesion and to strengthen the ties of companionship among personnel from various Formations and Units of the Corps.

Prior to this match, the basketball, volleyball and handball finals took place on 30 October 2024.

In basketball, CECIG earned a 61-56 victory over RG1. In volleyball, RG4 beat CECIG 03 sets to 1. In handball, RG1 won 29-24 against CECIG.

The closing ceremony of this 5th edition of the fitness and sports activities of the National Gendarmerie culminated in the official presentation of awards to the champions in each category, followed by a reception offered by High Command.
