Towards decent working and living conditions for Gendarmes: TESSANG Gendarmerie post handed over to the East Gendarmerie Legion
The handover ceremony took place on 22nd November 2024 in Tessang village. In attendance were administrative and traditional authorities, as well as the local population.

As part of the fruitful collaboration that exist between the population and the National Gendarmerie, an elite of the East Region has constructed and handed over a building to host the Tessang Gendarmerie Post to the Abong-Mbang Gendarmerie Company.

The post which is situated some 17 km from Messamena Sub-division was constructed by Mr Cyrus NGO’O, General Manager of the Port Authority of Douala (PAD). This brand new and ultra-modern building over an area of 2,708 mΒ² comprises of a block of 2 buildings, an elevated water tank, a borehole, and a solar power generating unit. The donation also includes two brand new motorbikes.

In his keynote address, the Colonel, Commander of the East Gendarmerie Legion, started by expressing the appreciation of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie to the General Manager of PAD, Mr Cyrus NGO’O.

He further indicated that this valuable donation, a self-reliant gesture towards development, is to be acknowledged. Noting that the Gendarmerie will make good use of this infrastructure, which is now one of its most modern facilities. He urged the population to maintain confidence in the Corps and to continue working with Gendarmes, providing them the right information and demonstrating good citizenship.
