FIGHT AGAINST ORGANISED CRIME AND CRIMINALITY: MANGUIER GENDARMERIE POST DISMANTLED A LARGE NETWORK OF COUNTERFEIT INSURANCE CERTIFICATE PRODUCTION
On April 2, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., the commander of the Gendarmerie Post and his team conducted a raid based on information provided by a whistleblower, leading to the dismantling of a large network involved in the production of counterfeit insurance certificates.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 66-year-old Aboubakar, who was found in possession of a significant quantity of counterfeit insurance certificates.

Further interrogation of Aboubakar led to the arrest of several other individuals, including Yaya Abdou (40 years old), Dandjouma Ismaël (48 years old), Abdoul Aziz (39 years old), and Yaya Ishaga (34 years old). These individuals were found with equipment essential for the production of the counterfeit documents.

The seized items include 224 car insurance certificates, 371 pink cards, three driving licenses belonging to Mohamadou Mourtada, Adamou, and Mohamadou Moktar, 489 truck trailer insurance coupons, 117 tourist vehicle receipts, ten certified copies of insurance policies, three certificates of tax compliance, two copies of customs clearance certificates, three copies of baccalaureate transcripts, three copies of birth certificates, five automobile insurance claims, one road accident report from the Edea Motorized Squadron, 27 stamps, one date stamp, and one number stamp.

The suspects will be referred to the prosecutor’s office for further interrogation in order to be held accountable.
