CAMEROUN’S National Gendarmerie prepares for 53rd edition of the national day parade
As part of preparations for the 53rd edition of Cameroon's National Day, to be celebrated on 20 May 2025, the Reunification Monument Boulevard has been transformed into a training ground where the National Gendarmerie is rehearsing its grand march past.

Under the supervision of the Brigadier General, Commander of the First Gendarmerie Region, and with coordination of the Colonel, Commander of the High Command for Gendarmerie Schools and Training Centres, as well as the Colonel, Deputy Central Director of Administration and Logistics, the National Gendarmerie has mobilized two platoons of honour of 22 personnel each. A female officer, assisted by five female gendarmes, will carry the national flag and serve as its guard.

Led by Lieutenant-Colonel Emmanuel BAMUH and marching to the rhythm of the National Gendarmerie band, the parade formation includes a Squadron Group comprising five squares, each with 144 personnel. These squares are made up as follows: female personnel, the Territorial Gendarmerie, Law Enforcement, the Mobile Gendarmerie, and the Multipurpose Intervention Regiment of the National Gendarmerie (GPIGN).

In the coming days, the Motorized Squadron Group will join the military parade rehearsals. This unit includes the parade commander’s vehicle, a Motorcycle Platoon of 22 riders, and several operational support vehicles—specifically, the “Signals-PCOPS-COG-Road Safety” Squadron, the Reconnaissance Squadron, the Law Enforcement Operations Support Squadron, and the Motorized Detachment from the International School of Security Forces (EIFORCES).

The National Gendarmerie’s participation in this event extends across all ten administrative regions of Cameroon, reflecting its nationwide commitment.

This comprehensive deployment aims to offer the Cameroonian public a memorable and inspiring military parade.
