The courtyard of the High Command for Gendarmerie Schools and Training Centres (CECIG), at Camp Yeyap in Yaounde, hosted the graduation ceremony of the 53rd Batch of student Gendarmes on June 5th 2025.

The ceremony that was chaired by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in Charge of the National Gendarmerie, Galax ETOGA, witnessed the presence of a cross section of the Gendarmerie hierarchy and family members.

The batch of 2956 trainees debuted training at the Gendarmerie Training Center on January 6th 2025 after an initial formation in military training centers. For about six months, through practical and theoritical exercices, they were drilled on Public Order Management, Judicial Police Operations, Organisation of the National Gendarmerie and General knowledge.

According to Lieutenant-Colonel BOUM BADI Louis Charles, Director of Studies at CECIG , the trainees had a satisfactory result of 99.76 percentage pass. Student Gendarme ABBA Simon was declared the best, with an average of 15.39 on 20.

Speaking during the colourful ceremony, the SED/CGN commended the laureates for their brilliant performance and urged them to stick to the ethics and deontology of the profession, to be disciplined and to be good representatives of the National Gendarmerie wherever they are assigned. He equally urged them to respect the uniform they wear so as to gain respect from the population they are called to protect. Concerning the upcoming presidential elections, he ordered them to guarantee a peaceful environment before, during and after elections.

The colourful ceremony ended with the award of Technical Aptitude Certificates number one ( CAT1 SG) to the graduates and a wonderful match pass.
