FIGHT AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING: MAROUA GENDARMERIE COMPANY BUSTS A LARGE STOCK OF INDIAN HEMP.
On 11 August 2025, at around 4 a.m., a blue TVS motorbike with registration number MD6255NF35P1LO2423 was intercepted by elements of the Maroua Gendarmerie Company at the Kodek joint checkpoint, located approximately 7 kilometres from Maroua on the Maroua-Bogo road.

The motorbike rider was speeding from Bogo to Maroua, when he suddenly saw the gendarmes, he got scared and fell off his motorbike at the speed bump near the checkpoint, and ran off into the dark night, leaving behind the motorbike with three net bags. During a thorough search of the bags, the gendarmes found a large quantity of Indian hemp.

The loot and the motorbike were seized and immediately transported to the Headquarters of the Maroua Gendarmerie Company, where an investigation was opened.
