Gendarmes have been drilled by hierarchy, since the launching of the electoral process in line with the forth coming presidential election, on their various activities on the polling day; right from the Central Administration to the Headquarters of the territorial and mobile Units.

It is worth noting that the role of the National Gendarmerie is to ensure a serene, secure and democratic atmosphere throughout the electoral process.

The role is spelt out by the law and is based on the principle of neutrality, impartiality, and professionalism.
