Acting on information on burglary in a motocycle factory in the Mbouo neighborhood, on 19 September 2025, elements of the Bandjoun Gendarmerie Brigade swiftly deployed to the field and then red-handedly nabbed a man in the act of theft. His interrogation permitted the Gendarmerieโs Intelligent Service to identify him as a dreaded gang member, specialised in assaults, burglaries, and human bone trafficking. A gang that has been manhunted by the Bandjoun Gendarmerie Company for causing terror in the area.
On 22 September 2025, the suspect was referred to the Gendarmerie Company of Bandjoun for further investigation. During the interrogation process, he confessed that his gang members were in possession of human bones which they were planning to sell on the black market.
The elements of the Bandjoun Gendarmerie Company then carried out a sweep operation on the nights of 22 and 23 September 2025, in Bamendjou, in order to halt the sale of human bones. The operation led to the arrest of three individuals in possession of a bag containing human bones; a skeleton and a half bone.
At the Bandjoun Gendarmerie Company, the suspects who were all ex-convicts confessed to have been constantly carrying out the acts accused of and have equally been the brain behind the assault of gendarmes in Bayangam. The search of their homes led to the seizure of several bladed weapons and equipment used to commit their numerous crimes.
The Bandjoun Gendarmerie Company Commander, Major NGOSSO MVOGO Gaรซl, posited that calm and serenity have returned in the locality following the arrest of the individuals. He equally noted that two of the accomplices had been referred to the Bafoussam Military Tribunal, a few months earlier, for having assaulted uniform men.
The alleged criminals and grave desecrators were brought before the law to be held accountable.
An investigation is ongoing at the Bandjoun Gendarmerie Company to track down the remaining gang members.
