These specialities included mechanics, carpentry, electrical installation, driving and music.

The candidates, both male and female, were dispatched to dedicated assessment centres based on their fields of expertise: drivers reported to the CFTA in Ekounou; carpenters to the Wood and Iron Workshop; mechanics to the National Gendarmerie Garage; electricians to the National Gendarmerie Signals Service; and musicians to the National Gendarmerie Band.

Upon conclusion of this phase, candidates who are shortlisted along with those from the General Service recruitment stream will proceed to an in-depth medical examinations.
