Shop fire, Douala on February 23, 2024.
At around 4:20 a.m., the Ngodi rescue center was alerted to a fire in the VILLAGE district, a place called Entrée lycée.

Upon arrival on the scene, the emergency services were confronted with a fire in a single-storey shop, with a risk of spreading to an R+1 building for residential use.

The intervention of the fire brigade consisted of stopping the spread and extinguishing the fire.

The material damage was significant, fortunately no casualties were recorded.

It is vital to stress the urgency of not storing domestic gas cylinders uncontrollably. In addition, it is strongly recommended to have portable fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in all homes.
