COMMAND MEETING: NATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS CORPS ASSESSES PROGRESS
The Commander of the National Firefighters Corps, Brigadier General MAHAMAT AHMED KOTOKO on May 8, 2025 at the Command Post of the National Firefighters Corps in Warda, Yaoundé, presided over the opening ceremony of the evaluation meeting of the Firefighters Corps.

The evaluation and retrospection meeting which will run from May 8 to 9, 2025 was attended by various territorial and central officials of the corps.

The evaluation meeting will have as objective to assess the operational performance and training measures related to civil protection, analyse the operational report for the 2025 first semester, take measures to address the challenges of civil protection as well as the training of personnel towards the ongoing project to acquire helicopters for civil protection and to better prepare for the May 20, 2025 celebration nationwide.

This evaluation meeting was also significant as 50 specialized vehicles were distributed amongst the different National Firefighters’ territorial commanders in order to equip their emergency services with the necessary tools to respond effectively to a wide range of crises.

The new additions to the vehicle fleet consisted of water tenders, heavy rescue vehicles, air compressor unit vehicles, CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) vehicles, aerial ladders, rescue and emergency medical services vehicles and advanced life support.

According to Brigadier General Mahamat Ahmed Kotoko, these specialized units will play a crucial role in various emergency situations, from firefighting and complex rescue operations to hazardous materials incidents and high-rise emergencies.
