Derailment of freight train bound for Ngaoundéré.
On Wednesday 07 May 2025 at around 1.25pm, the emergency services of the 302°C Ngaoundéré Fire Brigade were alerted to an overturned tank wagon leaking gas oil following the derailment of a freight train bound for Ngaoundéré. 05 wagons were involved, 03 of which contained petroleum products.

The emergency response involved working with other law enforcement agencies and SCDP experts to set up a large safety perimeter and supervise the plugging and transhipment of the product. The operation went smoothly and no incidents were recorded.
