This distinguished honour was bestowed upon him by Jean-Christophe Heidsieck, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Cameroon.
According to Ambassador Heidsieck, Brigadier General Mahamat Ahmed’s exceptional academic achievements, spanning six continents and his remarkable humanitarian work at the helm of the National Fire Fighters Corps, earned him this prestigious recognition. Under his leadership, the Fire Fighters Corps has demonstrated remarkable professionalism and excellence in service.
This medal award ceremony served as a platform to highlight the humanitarian efforts of the National Fire Fighters Corps, as well as to strengthen the bilateral ties between Cameroon and the Sovereign Order of Malta. The Sovereign Order of Malta, a sovereign entity and Roman Catholic order, has maintained diplomatic relations with Cameroon since 1961.
The decoration of Brigadier General Mahamat Ahmed Kotoko with the medal of the Sovereign Order of Malta underscores the strong bond between Cameroon and the Order, which has been fostered through various collaborations, including health and humanitarian initiatives.
