STUDY MISSION OF TEH 21st CLASS OF THE SIMBOCK ESIG IN BRAZIL : Deep Dive into Sovereign Ammunition Production
As part of its study mission to the Federative Republic of Brazil, the 21st Class of the Simbock International War College (ESIG) continued its activities this Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in São Paulo. This second day was entirely dedicated to visiting the Brazilian Cartridge Company (Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos – CBC), a strategic pillar of the host nation's defense industrial base.

Founded in 1926 and located in Ribeirão Pires, within the metropolitan area of São Paulo, CBC has risen to become Brazil’s leading ammunition producer and is currently ranked among the world’s largest small-caliber manufacturers. Certified as a “Strategic Defense Enterprise,” it serves as a vital national arsenal for the Brazilian Armed and Security Forces, while maintaining a strong global footprint through international subsidiaries and large-scale exports.

During this immersive visit, the student officers explored the company’s technological expertise through a presentation of its extensive product range. From small-caliber cartridges for training and sport shooting to heavier ammunition designed for the armed forces, the delegation observed the wide variety of configurations tailored to meet the strict demands of Defense and Public Security. This visit perfectly illustrated CBC’s technical know-how and its complete mastery of the entire production chain.

This second milestone provided the ESIG student officers with a concrete understanding of the role a sovereign defense industry plays in directly supporting military operations, as well as the strategic importance of domestic arms production. It reaffirms the immense value of this study mission as a framework for observing Brazil’s high-level industrial and technological defense dynamics, while further strengthening the military cooperation ties between Cameroon and Brazil.
