19th batch of ESIG makes way for 20th
The Yaounde International War College bids farewell to its 19th batch of trainees after passing close to a year of intense theoretical and practical lessons in and out of the institution.

The graduation ceremony was presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph accompanied by members of the Diplomatic Corps, Civil and Military authorities.

The 19th batch was made up of 61 trainees drawn from 25 countries from two continents (Africa and Europe) amongst whom was female personnel Lieutenant-Colonel Bepather Edongue Melema Claire from the Cameroon Defence Forces.

The farewell ceremony began with a word of welcome from the commandant of the Yaounde International War College, Brigadier General Nka Valere, who presented the batch and its specificities as he thanked the different laureates of their discipline and commitments throughout their stay in the institution and urge them to continue with the same spirit back home. He also called on them not to kill the fraternity and cordial bond created during their stay in the institution, for together we are stronger and better.

Following suit was a brief visual presentation of the different activities carried out by the batch both within and out of the country. As they benefited from rich field trips, which helped them to blend theory with practical knowhow in countries such as Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and China.

Speaking during the ceremony the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, saluted the fruitful bilateral cooperation between ESIG of Cameroon and its partners. While congratulating the graduates, Beti Assomo Joseph called on them to be good ambassadors wherever they are called to serve, be it in multinational missions or in their different countries. For it is only through their out puts that their stay in the Yaounde International War College will be valorised.

The different laureates are all going home not just with end of course certificates but also with a Master 2 in strategy, defence, security, conflict and disaster management at the University of Yaounde II Soa.
