The ceremony, inaugurated in the Hall of Acts of the Ministry of Defence was the occasion for the Director of the Human Resources Department, Colonel Goufan A Rim Georges Benard to present the motivations of the seminar namely; the creation of conditions of a Human Resource leadership that will be profitable for officials of the Ministry of Defence, the reinforcement of the capacities of decision makers on Human Resource Management (HRM) specificities within the Cameroon Defence Forces and the examination of the difficulties linked to the daily HRM. The seminar will also have as objective to propose practical solutions taking into consideration the judicial and standard abiding rules as well as the harmonization of institutional human resource obligations for the benefit of all the participating personnel.

Participating in this seminar are personnel of Human Resources from the Central administration, headquarters of different corps, Command posts of Joint Military and Gendarmerie Regions as well as some formations. The participants for the next four days are expected to partake in workshops on administrative and management technics of Human Resources.

Dr Lee Jean of South Korea and Madame Princess Laoudji of an International Consultancy firm, two experts in Human Resource Management in their inaugural interventions talked on the strategic approach for leadership and the change of mentality, two concepts proposed for implementation by the military hierarchy.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Said Kamsouloum emphasized that the management of human resources is at the center of any organization and is considered as the backbone for success.

The organization of this seminar shows the will of the military high command to create favourable conditions for better opportunities for young men and women of the Ministry of Defence. The seminar is expected to last till Thursday this week.
