Second Joint Military Regional Hospital organizes free medical consultations.
Aux premières heures de cette matinée du 22 avril 2024, l’Hôpital Militaire de Région N°2 était rempli de patients venus des quatre coins de la ville de Douala et ses environs, pour prendre part à la campagne de consultations gratuites organisée à leur intention. Cette initiative gage du renforcement du lien Armée-Nation va se poursuivre jusqu’au 26 avril 2024.

A free consultation campaign is currently taking place at the 2nd Joint Military Regional Hospital in Douala, Bonanjo which will run from April 22 to 26, 2024 under the supervision of the Director of the hospital, Dr. Colonel KOKI Godefroy.

While speaking to the press, Dr. Colonel KOKI Godefroy who is a surgical ophthalmologist made it clear that, the free consultation campaign which has become normalcy in his hospital takes place at least twice a year and is open to the general public that is, both the military and civilian patients.

In this edition, free consultations are carried out in the domains of ophthalmology, obstetrical gynecology, psychiatry, urology, surgical interventions, kinesitherapy, rheumatology, radiology, anesthesia reanimation, dermatology, gastroenterology, medical analysis, the list is inexhaustive.

He added that, upon arrival of patients, tickets are issued wherein they are oriented to the different makeshift cabins for a free medical consultation procedure. From there, they are ushered towards specialized units for thorough medical checkup with a fifty percent reduction in the costs of biology, while the rest of the services are totally free of charge during the five days.

Worthy of note is that, at least 2500 patients are expected going by statistics as oppose to 2000 patients who were received last year in the month of November during a similar free consultation campaign at the 2nd Joint Military Regional Hospital.

This laudable initiative is very much appreciated by the population who turned out in their numbers this first day while affirming that they are warmly welcomed and catered for by the qualified military and civilian health personnel.

In addition, this benevolent gesture that falls in line with the vision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya is aimed at adding a plus to the already existing Army and Nation bond. Thereby making the population feel comfortable and secure around military personnel likewise their structures.
