The National Committee for the Recruitment of 2000 commandos for the benefit of the Presidential Guard and the Rapid Intervention Battalion
arrived the regional capital of the South Region on Sunday October 22, 2023. Upon arrival after installations, they began immediately with the identification of over, 1500 candidates assembled at the football field in front of the command post of the 7th Military Sector in Ebolowa impatiently waiting for their arrival.

The recruitment committee was welcomed with a lot of enthusiasm by the on lookers who gathered for diverse reasons on both sides of the road. A sign that the population believe and have confidence in their Defence Forces and that the security of the country concerns us all.

The recruitment proceeds with the preliminary medical tests consisting of the detection of physical pathologies that can prevent the candidates from effectively participating in the 20-kilo metres race with a sand load of 20kg.

Each candidate has to go through an audition, sight, height and blood pressure tests before visiting the hall were the military doctors await them for preliminary physical checks. The results for those declared medically feet for the race will definitely be out before the end of today. To permit the candidates to run tomorrow for their 20kg bags have already been filled up and sealed waiting to be carried by each candidate who braves the preliminary medical tests.
