The presence of the National Gendarmerie at the event, is part of efforts to strengthen the bond between the Army and the Nation, so keenly advocated by the Head of State, Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.
For its maiden participation with a stand, crowds turned up in large numbers, and many visitors were fascinated at what they discovered and learned.
This stand hosts a number of workshops. These include the Communication Service workshop, where visitors can learn about the history and missions of the National Gendarmerie; the Road Safety workshop, which presents the mandate of traffic police and road safety mandate of the Corps, as well as the equipment used; the Criminal Investigation workshop, which highlights the missions of crime investigators; and a workshop for the Multipurpose Intervention Regiment of the National Gendarmerie (GPIGN), where visitors are briefed on their counter-terrorism missions and equipment used.
Statistics after the second day showed that the stand of the National Gendarmerie welcomed slightly over 80% of visitors, many of whom were marveled at the equipment showcased, and others who wanted to find out more about the mandate of the Corps.
The reasons for the presence of the National Gendarmerie at this youth event are essentially to present a brief history of the National Gendarmerie, its missions and organization chart, and most importantly, to encourage young people to take up a career in the force.
This presence also reflects the principle of proximity Gendarmerie.
