This operation, led by the Baham Company command,resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect found in possession of a bag containing human bones. Subsequent interrogation led to the arrest of an alleged accomplice, aged 30. According to Dr KAMGA Abel, a forensic pathologist, the remains have been identified as those of a male individual.
Major MEBOUINZ Daniel Fritz indicated that the suspects were intercepted while attempting to sell their loot on the black market for an estimated sum of 20 million CFA francs. Their modus operandi reportedly involved exhuming bodies from graves during the day and retrieving bones under the cover of night.
In response to the recent surge in insecurity in the Upper Plateau area, the senior officer urge on the population to remain vigilant and to cooperate closely with the National Gendarmerie.
The two suspects have been handed over to the competent judicial authorities.
