The visit began with an audience granted by Brigadier-General LOUBA ZAL Pierre, Central Director of Coordination (DCC). He was accompanied by the colonel Deputy Central Director of Coordination, the Colonel of the High command for Gendarmerie Schools and Training Centres, the Colonel Deputy Director of the Department of Employment and Structures, as well as several officials from the Central Services and specialised units of the National Gendarmerie. Talks centred on military cooperation between the Cameroonian and Algerian National Gendarmeries.

Key discussion points included counter-terrorism, the fight against cybercrime—with particular attention to issues surrounding cryptocurrency—and training.

Over the two-day visit, the Algerian delegation toured the National Digital Command Centre, the Central Criminal Investigations Service (SCRJ), the Advanced Criminal Investigation Training Centre (CPPJ), and the National Gendarmerie’s Multi-purpose Intervention Regiment (GPIGN) in Mbankomo.

At each stop, the delegation received presentations on the history, structure, and mandate of the Cameroonian National Gendarmerie, followed by briefings on the organisation and responsibilities of the respective units visited.

Following this initial visit, both parties are already working to finalise the framework for this emerging cooperation, while awaiting a forthcoming visit by a Cameroonian delegation to Algeria.
