Fight against counterfeiting and smuggling : The Mewoulou Gendarmerie post nabs an alleged fake whisky producer.
In the afternoon of 27 February 2024, at about 5.40 p.m., precisely at Tegon in Yaounde, elements of the Mewoulou Gendarmerie Post arrested a counterfeiter who makes a living producing fake whiskies.

The counterfeiter was arrested in his vehicle which was transporting several cartons of fake whiskies.

A search of his home led to the seizure of over 600 empty whisky bottles of all brands.

He is currently held in custody at the Mewoulou Gendarmerie Post, pending his appearance before the competent courts in the coming days.
