The ceremony held for that purpose at the courtyard of the Headquarters Brigade started at 10 a.m. and was presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, BETI ASSOMO Joseph. Attendants included several guests, amongst whom was the Grand Chancellor of National Orders, YANG Philemon.
After this colourful ceremony which was full of excitement, the Gendarmes promoted were treated to a wetting ceremony presided over by Mr Galax ETOGA, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie (SED/CGN), who was accompanied by the Brigadier General, Director General of the International School for Security Forces (EIFORCES) and the Colonel, Deputy Central Director of Coordination (DCC/A). Close collaborators of Mr SED/CGN were also present at this ceremony which began at 2 p.m
Senior officers, officers and non-commissioned officers had received the High Command’s recognition.
Each of them received congratulations after the wetting ritual of their new epaulette or medal.
This event ended with a group photograph and a cocktail at the Gendarmes’ Club within the Central Services of the National Gendarmerie.
