Fight against organized crime: four fake ENEO agents arrested
Warrant Officer NGONO Martin, head of the Nkoabang Gendarmerie Post, initiated an investigation after a tip-off that some individuals were planning to break-into the home of a school principal in the Nkoabang neighbourhood, precisely at “Bitotol 11ème arrêt”.

In fact, on 19 November 2024, at about midday, four individuals posing as ENEO agents broke into the principal’s home aiming to make away with a sum of 30 million CFA francs. But upon arrival at the crime scene, these alleged criminals were caught by the police. They promptly ran away, but were caught in the trap laid by elements of the Nkoabang Gendarmerie Post.

The alleged criminals were arrested with backpacks containing 03 machetes, a nail wrench, pliers, a hammer and three wraps of Indian hemp in their possession.

After questioning, the suspects, all of whom are ex-convicts, confessed to their crime, admitting that they acted on orders of an accomplice who broke out of jail and is at large in Tunisia. According to them, the crime instigator had told them that the school principal had 30 million CFA F in his home, and he needed the money to continue his journey to Europe.

The suspects were referred to the Mfou High Court on Wednesday, 27 November 2024, to be held accountable.

Investigation is ongoing in view of arresting other accomplices.
