End-of-year social activities; East Gendarmerie Legion stands by the side of underpriviledge children.
On Sunday, 22nd December 2024, Colonel Nnoko Ngide Divine, Commander of the East Gendarmerie Legion, led a team that donated foodstuffs, clothing, cartons of soap, other sanitary kits and toys.

Beneficiaries were 138 underage detainees of the Bertoua Central Prison, and 28 residents of the Marie France orphanage of Nkolbikon, who will celebrate the festive season with smiles on their faces. This heartfelt gesture aims to strengthen the Army-Nation bond and to give hope to these children, whose journey to success is incredibly difficult. Through this, elements of the East Gendarmerie Legion also wanted to show solidarity with the underprivileged.

At each stage of the visit, Colonel NNOKO NGIDE Divine, on behalf of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie and of the staff of the East Legion as a whole, indicated that the National Gendarmerie has a social twist to its missions, aimed at improving on the well being of its personnel and the needy or disadvantaged segments of the population. In doing so, the National Gendarmerie reflects its human side and its continuous commitment to contribute to the welfare of the society.

After promising to make good use of the donations received, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and vowed to work closely with the law enforcement officers.
