After the seizure on 14 October, the Centre Gendarmerie Legion dismantled another illegal drug trafficking ring at the place called โ€œcarrefour Damasโ€ in Yaoundรฉ.
Following reliable intelligence, and acting on instructions of the hierarchy, the Investigation Bureau of this Formation, led by its Head, Lieutenant Sylvain BENOUN, stormed the area unexpectedly.
Colonel NGUELE Joseph, Commander of the Centre Gendarmerie Legion, stated that the operation was carried out on Sunday, 23 November 2025 and led to the arrest of 03 suspects as well as the seizure of a huge stock of illegal medicines of about 600 boxes found in 05 stores and 04 shops.
Amongst the seized items, were equally unused packaging, implying that these traffickers recycle certain expired medicines and make them available for consumption.
According to Dr. Julius SAMA, Inspector of Pharmaceutical Services and Laboratories, this additional action by the National Gendarmerie is to be commended. He also emphasized on self-awareness and vigilance, just like the Legion Commander.
These suspects will be brought before the competent courts after investigation.
