DOUALA II GENDARMERIE COMPANY INTENSIFIES CRACKDOWN ON DRUG TRAFFICKING
On 22 April 2026, at about 8:00 p.m., elements of the Douala II Gendarmerie Company conducted a targeted operation in the Tergal neighbourhood, acting on intelligence received.

The operation led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer found in possession of a huge quantity of narcotics, along with 605,000 CFA francs in cash. The seized items included 40 packets of a substance locally known as “gros cailloux” (crack cocaine in rock form), valued at 15,000 CFA francs each, 16 packets of another drug referred to as “la taille” also valued at 15,000 CFA francs per packet, and an additional 34 grams of “la taille,” estimated at 525,000 CFA francs.

According to the Commander of the Douala II Gendarmerie Company, Major Bobodji Bello Jean, the total value of the confiscated drugs is estimated at over 1 million CFA francs.

The suspect has been taken to the Gendarmerie Unit for further interrogation. Investigations are ongoing, with the aim of dismantling the wider drug trafficking ring.
