FGHT AGAINST FAKE CURRENCIES TRAFFICKING: THE AHALA GENDARMERIE POST NABS A COUNTERFEIT BANKNOTES TRAFFICKER
At about 8:00 p.m. on 21 May 2026, elements of the AHALA Gendarmerie Post arrested an alleged counterfeit banknotes trafficker, at a place called Carrefour Banane.

The arrest, based on reliable sources, was carried out under the supervision of the Yaounde II Company Commander.

A man named Piata Ngounou Divane, born on 30 May 2005, was found in possession of new well packaged and secured Counterfeit banknotes. The banknotes amounting to about 100,000,000 CFA Francs were in 50 U.S. dollars; 100 U.S. dollars; 50 Swiss francs and 20 Swiss francs.

The individual and the seized consignement were taken to the AHALA Gendarmerie Post where an investigation is ongoing.
