FIGHT AGAINST DRUG SALE AND USE IN DOUALA: TRADITIONAL HEALER ARRESTED
In an unusual case in the city of Douala, a 48-year-old man who worked as a traditional healer by day and drug dealer by night has been arrested by elements of the National Gendarmerie.

In fact, during the night of 03 to 04 June 2026, at around midnight, the Bassa Gendarmerie Brigade carried out a raid in the Dakar neighborhood, precisely at “Blanchisseur”. The operation led to the suspect’s arrest.

A search of both his home and hideout led to the discovery and seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, including two half-bags of indian hemp and nine wraps, along with other prohibited substances.

During questioning, the dealer admitted to using these substances both for his supposed therapeutic practices and for personal use and sale.

The National Gendarmerie has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling all forms of drug trafficking and is urging the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.
