The visit had two main objectives: first, to introduce participants to the state-of-the-art digital and communication systems used by the National Gendarmerie to coordinate and conduct operations; and second, to familiarise them with standard radio communication procedures, particularly those applied in the management of aircraft accidents.

Coordinated by Major EKEMELA MEKA Florent Sorel, Head of the National Gendarmerie’s Signals Service, the event also gave participants the opportunity to tour the newly established Digital Command Centre, which is currently being commissioned at the National Gendarmerie’s Central Services.

The CCAA delegation comprised 22 participants, including three Cameroonians and 19 foreign nationals from Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo-Brazzaville, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chad, Mali, and Togo.

The visit reflects the National Gendarmerie’s commitment to promoting the exchange of expertise, strengthening operational capabilities, and fostering regional cooperation in the fields of communications and aviation safety and security.

At the conclusion of the visit, the CCAA delegation expressed its satisfaction with the presentations delivered and the modern digital infrastructure showcased. The participants departed with renewed confidence in the National Gendarmerie’s ability to play a pivotal role in coordinating search and rescue operations for aircraft in distress.
