Presided by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence, in charge of the National Gendarmerie (SED/CGN), Galax ETOGA, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Congo and the Defence Attachés of the Central African Republic and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, as well as generals, this ceremony marked the end of six intensive six months training, characterised by discipline, rigour and the enhancement of the trainees’ operational and technical abilities.


The six (06)-month training course , which started on 27 December 2025, brought together 55 officers, including 49 Cameroonians and 6 trainees from friendly countries (02 from the Central African Republic, 02 from the Republic of the Congo and 02 from the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire). Its aim was to prepare the officers to command a Territorial or Mobile Gendarmerie Unit effectively and to lead a Unit within the National Gendarmerie or the Armed Forces. To achieve this objective, the training consisted of five main modules: Public Order, Judicial Police, High Command, Ethics and deontology, and Operational Defence of the country, as well as conferences and a field trip.


The trainees were all promoted and the overall average mark was 13.34. Lieutenant ABANDA MBANG Pierre Magloire, topped the class with an average of 15.89.


In his speech, the SED/CGN reminded that this course, established in accordance with the Head of State’s desire to modernise the training of the Security Forces, addressing today security challenges and prepares officers to lead with competence, sound judgement and professionalism. He commended the trainees’ resilience and excellent results before urging them to exercise exemplary leadership, based on integrity, rigour, respect of ethics and deontology and a close relationship with their staff. He also called on them to responsibly manage the resources placed at their disposal and to remain, wherever they may serve, upholders of the rule of law while serving the people.


This ceremony thus marks the end of a crucial stage in these officers career; they are now better equipped to meet the challenges of command and to contribute to strengthening the operational effectiveness of the National Gendarmerie.
