SECURITY OPERATION IN ATOK : ABONG-MBANG GENDERMERIE COMPANY STRENGTHENS SECURITY IN URBAN AND SUBURBAN AREAS
As part of ongoing efforts to restore public order and combat insecurity, elements from Squadron 42, in coordination with the Abong-Mbang Gendarmerie Company Headquarters, conducted a raid operation on 11 August 2026 at 6:00 a.m. in Zoguela village, precisely in a place known as Bidigue in the locality of Atok.

The operation led to the arrest of 21 individuals, 19 men and two women on various charges. During this operation, a substantial quantity of items were seized; including two homemade firearms, five rounds of 12 gauge ammunition, one bag of Indian hemp, a set of military camouflage clothing, four motorcycles, one power saw, two power cutters, and seven bags of rice recovered from a road traffic accident that occurred on 10 August 2026 along National Road No. 10.

All arrested persons and seized items have been transferred to the Atok Gendarmerie Brigade for further investigation.

In a related incident, a suspected drug trafficker was arrested in possession of a bag containing Indian hemp. The suspect has been taken to the Abong-Mbang Gendarmerie Company Headquarters for questioning.

Through this operation, the National Gendarmerie reaffirms its unwavering commitment to preventing and combating all forms of crime, protecting persons and property, and maintaining public order in both urban and suburban areas.
