Following the Presidential Decree of August 3, 2026, five Colonels of the Defence Forces were elevated to the prestigious rank of Brigadier General.

As part of ongoing efforts to dismantle human trafficking ring operating in Cameroon, and following numerous reports of online fraud and abduction of relatives abroad, the Central Criminal Investigation Service of the National Gendarmerie opened an investigation on 16 May 2026.
Acting upon reliable information, the Baham Gendarmerie Company carried out a large-scale operation to combat drug trafficking from August 5 to 12, 2026. The operation resulted in the arrest of 21 suspected traffickers, aged between 22 and 60.
