“Chritsmas Tree’ ceremony aimed at showing the solidarity of the Corps to widows and children of fallen comrades(CNSP).
On Wednesday Dec 20, 2023 Navy Captain Petato’a Poufong Edgard, Deputy Commander of the Fire Fighters Corps, representing the Commander of the Corps, Brigadier General MAHAMAT AHMED KOTOKO presided over the “Chritsmas Tree’ ceremony aimed at showing the solidarity of the Corps to widows and children of fallen comrades.

The traditional end of year ceremony held at the esplanade of the 10th Group of the Firefighters Unit at Mimboman was endorsed with the sharing of gifts which include among others; bags of rice, soap, sugar, cooking oil and cash to assist these families better prepare the Christmas Feast.

The ceremony was spiced by an intercultural chorography dance performed by the children who happily shook up to the rhythm of the melodies played. While appreciating the gesture of the High Command, Mme Mbing Awa, head of the Social Affairs Services of the National Fire Fighters Corps, expressed the need for the insertion of the orphans into professional training courses to ease job acquisition.

It is worth noting that not only does the Corps give assistance to families of fallen comrades during the end of year but also distributes didactic material to children at the start of every academic year. The support is equally felt in the assistance the Corps gives in following up of pension papers.
