MINDEF chair medals, epaulets awards ceremony
Officers, Non-Commissioned and soldiers of the rank and file likewise civilian personnel in the Ministry of Defence received epaulets and distinctions at the esplanade of the Headquarters Brigade on July 1, 2024 in a ceremony presided at by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph.

The ceremony kicked started with the award of medals to military and civilian personnel of the ministry of defence with distinctions ranging from the national order of valour to the labour Medals as the different administrative authorities took turns to affix on the chest of the meritorious personnel.

 

Closely followed was the award of epaulets to hundreds of Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers of the rank and file ranging from the ranks of Colonel to lance corporal which falls in line with the 2024 budgetary year in the Ministry of Defence.

 

The ceremony was presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph, accompanied by members of government amongst whom was the President of the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, H.E Philemon Yang, members of the diplomatic corps, religious and traditional authorities.

The dual ceremony was spiced by a merry go round performed by the Main Music Band of the Army.
